The Kelana cover is for those that need a safe place for their everyday musings in a stylish, portable format. The bifold design allows you quick access to your notebooks - making it ideal if you’re on-the-go and prefer a minimalistic setup.

The cover contains elastic strings that can carry multiple notebooks that may be swapped out or replaced at any time - allowing you to tailor your journaling experience to your needs.

Skillfully burnished, the edges of this journal cover have been sealed and polished to create a refined and durable finish - a feature that can only be achieved with time and care.

Details and dimensions

The Kelana cover is made using premium Italian vegetable-tanned cow leather with a stone-polished texture sourced from a family-owned tannery in Tuscany, Italy. It comes with one or two sets of inner strings, and the cover size varies according to the number of interior strings selected. For the holes, you have the option of either gold or silver eyelets, or none at all. The closing cord is attached to the spine of the journal cover. Notebooks are not included with purchase of this leather cover.

Dimensions of the Kelana cover:

• With one interior string - approx. 219mm x 160mm (closed) / 219mm x 335mm (open; laid flat)
• With two interior strings - approx. 219mm x 160mm (closed) / 219mm x 345mm (open; laid flat)

Ideal for:

• Standard A5 notebooks measuring 148 x 210 millimetres, or 5.83 x 8.27 inches.
• Notebooks with a minimum thickness of 10mm and a maximum thickness of 20mm (for one-stringed interior) or 25-30mm (for two-stringed interior). 

Our production process

At Little Picnic Leather Goods, all of our products are handcrafted and made to order in the order they are received. Our leather covers are made in our small leathercrafting studio in the tropical city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The creation of our studio came accidentally - through picking up leathercrafting as a way to slow down and counter the fast-paced nature of modern life. So we continue to follow a slow and intentional production process in small batches. This allows us to craft with care, avoid overproduction, and produce sustainably.
